Well, it has been a month since I launched my book, and it feels very surreal. Yes, I still find it weird when people say ‘You are an Author’ now – that is just too ‘ler-nid’ for me. I just tell stories about things that happened to me.
There have also been tears, tears of emotion, when I read some of the reviews or comments that people have sent me and I am so happy that it seems to encourage people and leave them with positive thoughts.
Last weekend I did my first ‘Meet the Author’ stint at Vale Harvest, our monthly village market. I had the same pitch I used to have when I sold my fudge. I am so unprofessional that I forgot to take a photo of the stall, but I got one with one of the first people (who I didn’t know) who bought my book. I was nervous (imposter syndrome again) but I also enjoyed it immensely – it is great being part of such an amazing community and fun being out there chatting and meeting new people. For a person who doesn’t go out much, it was both exhilarating and exhausting. An afternoon on the sofa knitting followed.
I get asked, “When is the next book coming out?” To be honest, it is not something I ever thought about but as I sit at my desk on the first wet, dull day in what seems to me a lifetime, the urge to write started to awaken. I am so out of the groove but here we are. So, I am not saying never but only if I get inspired. In the meantime, I have this blog so sign up if you want to follow my ongoing story and adventures.
If you have read the book, let me know what you thought about it and, even better, give me an honest review on Amazon or send it to me for my website. Apparently, it is a thing I need to do.
